ENDON CRICKET CLUB

SUSTAINABILITY AND ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY

The club has a duty to promote the game of cricket to its local area, improve and maintain its playing and social facilities and to fully utilise its assets in the raising of funds. Where possible these activities must not be detrimental to the environment and should, where practicable, make a positive "Green" impact.

Co-operating with regulatory agencies is an essential prerequisite for a successful environmental policy but the club must make the effort not to be just responsive to these bodies but also to be proactive in establishing their aims and objectives.

The following actions will help to fulfil Endon's "Green commitment":

  1. Minimise the waste of products, materials and energy
  2. Actively promote the re-use and recycling of materials
  3. Reduce pollution into the air, into the water table and on to the ground
  4. Take control of noise emissions so that they are minimised
  5. Promote the club's environmental policy to all members on a regular basis
  6. Inform suppliers and subcontractors
  7. Generate energy when funding allows
  8. Actively encourage local flora and fauna especially in the club's margins
  9. Review policy on a regular basis or when new regulations need responding to

The Endon CC Exexcutive Committe, under advice when necessary, will alter the policy from time to time to make it more effective in attaining the environmental objectives of the club as well as complying with the regulatory bodies that administer local and national environmental legislature.

The Executive Committe will ensure that the policy:

  1. Directly relates to the environmental impacts of the Club's scope of activities and services
  2. Takes into account the nature and magnitude of all environmental impacts
  3. Commits the Club to take all reasonable steps to prevent pollution
  4. Commits the Club to continually seek improvement in its Environmental Management Procedures
  5. Commits the Club to compliance with all relevant legal requirements
  6. Provides a framework for setting environmental objectives and establishes time frames for their achievement
  7. Is documented, put into practice and sustained
  8. Is introduced to all persons working for or on behalf of the Club
